About The Artist
Born and raised in San Jose, I started my creative life in musical theater. My love for performing arts, and all the people behind the scenes, continues to show up in my visual art now.
I make figurative paintings of makers, teachers and performers. I am endlessly interested in that space where people share their passion with each other. My mission is to make work that’s expressive, ethereal and accessible.
Using acrylic on canvas, I honor big and small moments in the arts. I work with overlapping layers of trees, plants and portraits, and am challenged by creating balance among those different elements. Still in the Bay Area, I now work from a studio in Sausalito, and am inspired by the thriving artistic community around me.
Born in San Jose, I studied fine art at Cal Poly, and painting at the Accademia of Florence. I taught kids’ art classes for several years, then spent 13 years as a sign maker. I’m now happily running my own show as a first time business owner.
